About Me

My name is Emma Rees and I grew up in Victoria, BC on the traditional lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. I am currently in the UVic Elementary Education PDPP and am hoping to teach primary age learners after I complete the program.

I currently live 10 minutes from UVic with my 2 house rabbits, Po and Celeste. I am an avid animal lover, having spent a season doing wildlife rehabilitation in Metchosin and volunteering with wildlife in Costa Rica, Cambodia, and Panama.

I work at a high school as a House Parent, library supervisor, and am the head coach of their track and field team. Being able to interact with teenagers in a pastoral setting and help them achieve their athletic goals alongside working in elementary schools gives me a variety of teaching experience.

My hobbies include playing soccer, running, reading fantasy books, baking, doing crafts, and spending time with my friends and family.
